Holiday Trip to Jakarta with Friends

It was the end of the 7^th semester in Gunadarma University, we got really bored and plans for a trip to go to somewhere since the last time we go was 2 years ago (to Malang). So we decided to go to a place that is famous in North Jakarta, not Ancol, but Pantai Indah Kapuk short for PIK. My friends who came along the trip was Anastasia, Husnul, Bowo, Jodi, and Wiby.

Everyone except for Bowo and I are all from Depok, so they depart together from Pondok Cina Station, since I live in South of Jakarta my friends told me to wait at the gathering point where it was close for Bowo (who drove a car from Bekasi) at Menteng station.

Arrived in Menteng Station, after tirelessly searching for them where I have to go around the station to find them, We all finally met. Then we wait for Bowo to pick us up, although he arrived at the wrong side of the road and we are too tired and lazy to cross the road since it is a very big and dense traffic road. So Bowo has to turn around to pick us up, it took 10 minutes for him to do so.

Going to our destination PIK Mangrove, we used the toll near Menteng to get there. We arrived in 10AM, and everything was still closed and uncrowded to the point like we feel as if we own the place. Bowo brought a camera with him, so did Husnul, although if we bring the camera inside the mangrove park, we have to pay 350,000 Rupiah’s. a rather ridiculous regulation, so we decide to not bring the camera along. Thankfully, I brought a phone with a decent camera, Anastasia did too. here are the highlights on what we took:

After walking around and taking pictures, we got tired, hungry so we left go to the parking lot and plan to leave. On our way to the parking lot, we saw a big monitor lizard, and monkeys stealing a kids plastic bag from a family who had just arrived, we could not take the picture of the monkeys, but we did got some pictures of the lizard :

We arrive at the parking lot get to our car and on our way to eat, we ate at a pretty wallet-friendly restaurant (and rather delicious). I could not recall what the restaurant was called, but my friend told me that the initial name was “Warung GM”. The restaurant was around the busy road of PIK.

It was 1 PM, not knowing where to go. So we just improvise and go to a mall called Pejaten Village. There everyone including me goes shopping for some random stuff, Wiby didn't shop for anything though, neither did Bowo. and went to a café. Compared to what we ate, this café was not at all wallet-friendly, though it was worth it since the place was cool and comfortable, or very “instagramable” what Anastasia and Husnul would call it.

It is now 4PM and we decided to go to our original gathering point; Menteng Station, before that we eat again one last time at the small and medium enterprises (or commonly known to us as UMKM) at Menteng Blok M. In my opinion, the food was so-so as it wasn’t good as the other 2 we’ve been to, and the boys agreed with me. Although Anastasia disagreed as she said it was not so bad, and so did Husnul. After finished eating, we go to Menteng station and said our goodbyes

It was a very fun trip, It would not have been as fun if one of us did not or could not come. I Love and would very much like to hangout many more trips with them again.
